From carpet to chair - an exploration of 2D to 3D formation
This project is to challenge a foldable chair by creating a new way of folding. It is self-forming; the steel structure falls into a chair shape naturally by the gravity while a person lifts the handle of the chair's back. The idea comes from the impression of an object emerges from a surface. Since the characteristic of an object changes by the perspective of its audiences, I’m always interested in exploring artifacts that can transform from 2D to 3D and alters human perceptions.
